Fairytales do come true.

Well, well, whaddya know.

The winners for the Super 9 week: RM199,999 contest was announced today.

Yes, I said “winners”.

44 of them, to be exact.

The math works out to each of them getting RM4,545.45 out of the RM199,999 pie which they were all aiming for.

Heh. I don’t know if I would be damn pissed or grateful…so near yet so far eh, folks?

Some of them might have spent RM1000 (more or less) to buy obscene amount of TheStar just for the entry form..so yeh. There’s no such thing as a free lunch, ladies and gents.

This is the ranking for the Super 9 week. Let’s see how the masses’ thinking match up to FoongJinTheWonderful.

What I’ll do with RM199,999! (in descending order):

  1. settle my debts (Nothing wrong with this. Good thinking, in fact.)
  2. invest in a new home (Yeah, and start financing the home loan..ie a new debt. SMART move.)
  3. go on a dream holiday (Mmmm yes. RM200K is a lot of dream holidays rolled into one…)
  4. buy a brand new car (Not necessary AT ALL, unless your car is a piece of junk held precariously together by several rolls of duct tape and takes half a morning just to get the engine running. I mean, if you want a good car in the medium price range, it’d cost about RM100k. HALF the money blown on a car. WTF? Cars just to travel only mah. Wasting money. NEXT!)
  5. go on a shopping spree (WAHAHAHAH! YES. THIS SHOULD BE NO. 2. OMG WHAT WERE THE MASSES THINKING! The stuff that I can buy with RM200k - new handphone, clothesclothesclothesclothes, shoesshoesshoesshoes, bagsbagsbagsbags, booksbooksbooksbooks…*dreams on* In my defence, we have to wear CLOTHES and SHOES and carry BAGS everyday for the rest of our lives.)
  6. save for a rainy day (WHAT! This is at number 6?!!! Have we forgotten what we learned in Primary School? That saving is good? Sigh..we are indeed a materialistic society.)
  7. donate to charity (Good good. I read that Pure Lotus Hospice of Compassion in Penang wants to set up a home for AIDS patients and are lacking RM10mil. Go donate. And men who screw around with prostitutes and get AIDS and then pass it on to their wives are fucking assholes jerkfaces and should burn in hell. They brought upon this mess and have the gall to die and leave the wife to handle raising the kids singlehandedly, probably taking care of the dependants [i.e. other family members] and working to earn minimum wage ALL BY HERSELF. Sometimes I wonder, with all these hatred and scorn for men inside me, why am I not a lesbian? You know, I was really serious in the last sentence.)
  8. get an image makeover (OMFG how the fuck did this even get on the list?! RM200k for an IMAGE MAKEOVER?! If by IMAGE MAKEOVER you mean FULL BODY + FACE PLASTIC SURGERY, then I understand. Plenty of people need this, but still, it won’t hide the ugliness of their personalities. *fumes at certain people in class today*)
  9. Further my education (WHAT! This is the last thing that anyone would pick?!?!?! I am in a state of total shock! Wah you think RM200k is enough to live on for the rest of your life ah? Oklah…I know most probably the majority who entered this contest have completed their tertiary education, so I shall magnanimously let them off the hook. But I saw among the 44 winners, there are definitely some of studying age there, SO WHERE ARE YOUR PRIORITIES MAN?!?!?!)

My god. Frankly speaking, I am quite flabbergasted. The results were unexpected. Tsk tsk. Okay, now you do! Faster faster! Then we compare results, ok?

Done?

My vote would have been:

  1. further my education - Wot! Can go UK already ok. I WANT LAH.
  2. save for a rainy day - Duh! Common sense, right? Plus, medical bills damn expensive wei. I RARELY (and that’s an understatement already) eat vegetables and always consume unhealthy stuff, so better make sure I have enough in the bank to buy me a new organ from the black market. Oh that reminds me, my Biology/Physics/Chemistry tuition teacher informed the class that a kidney is worth about RM40k on the balck market. “Jual satu pinggang, boleh beli satu Kancil” were his exact words. Lol. Boy I miss his classes.
  3. buy a brand new car - Cos I have no brand old car to begin with. I shall buy a Kelisa and the rest of the money shall be used to collect interest for my petrol.
  4. go on a shopping spree - Happy? I demoted it from no.2 to no.4. I’ll probably take my family + friends on a shopping spree lah. Heheh..okay, MAYBE. Only if you promise me you won’t buy Gucci, Versace and the likes.
  5. go on a dream holiday - This was a close fight for no.4 man. But then ah, I have a faulty memory, so no matter how wonderful the holiday is, I sure cannot remember properly wan…quite a waste of money to blow it all on something that will remain abstract for the rest of my life lah.
  6. donate to charity - And also use my immense financial influence *ahem* to amend the law to castrate rapists and men who go to prostitutes.
  7. settle my debts - Actually, I wanted to put this higher…like to settle off my parent’s debts lah, but then it says MY debts. Currently stands at RM0. But still it’s not the last place because I will use it to settle my parent’s debts
  8. invest in a new home - SO not applicable! Can’t afford to move out now. Anyway, RM200k is NOT enough to buy a nice spacious TERRACE house even. Bleh.
  9. get an image makeover - Heh. DON’T MAKE ME LAUGH! I’m not about to spend RM200k on AN IMAGE MAKEOVER OMG SO STUPID.

Ah well, NO POINT DREAMING LAH NFJ. Oh yeah, and that goes out to all the 44 winners who took back RM 4.5k each, too. :P

On another slightly unrelated note, THE AIR FARES ARE SO FUCKING CHEAP OMG! Return air ticket + 3 nights accomodation + daily breakfast IN HONG KONG IS GOING FROM RM 463. OMG OMG OMG BOOK ME A TICKET NOW I GO HK DURING SUMMER HOLIDAYS OMG!!!! GOT SUMMER SALES OMG OMG!!! BEAM ME UP, SCOTTY!! WO YAO!

Of course, I realise the irony of the situation now. If I had won even the RM4.5k, I would not be whining and pleading for someone (*coughs*parents*coughs*) to buy the airfare for me. Shit. Life sucks, sometimes. Damn you people.
